One of the things that melts my heart about my two gorgeous kiddies is that even at only age 5 and 3 they are both such big foodies like their mum and dad! Most of our conversations always somehow end up focusing on food, and that’s exactly what happened one afternoon when my husband and I were showing the kids our wedding pictures. My daughter is going through a very girly phase and was besotted with my clothes and jewelry whilst my son just couldn’t get over our dessert menu as it consisted of his beloved pecan pie and chocolate samosa with ice cream. Now the thought of a chocolate samosa was like what dreams are made of for a little chocoholic, and I guess the deliciousness of it got to him and he suddenly walked away from us all and sat by himself looking so sad and within a few seconds we could see his chin quivering and we knew what was going to come next! Sure enough tears started to pour down those gorgeous big eyes and all he could say was how could we not have invited his sister and him! He was truly heartbroken! Hubbie and I had the hilarious task of trying to make him understand that he did not even exist at the time, but the thing that got to him the most was that we had never shared chocolate samosas with him!

 

 

So these delicious samosas were created just for him, to make it up I decided to make them even more special and instead of just having chocolate to use nutella, as after all nutella makes everything more delicious! These gorgeous samosas are so easy and quick to make, only thing you need to be careful of is folding the samosa sheets tightly so that nutella can’t leak out whilst frying. This video is brilliant in helping to show how to make perfect samosas. Also please make sure you use nutella that has been refrigerated until it is solid and hard as it makes it less messier to work with but also helps to make sure there is no leakage when frying.

Ingredients
  • 12 samosa or spring roll sheets
  • 1 cup (240g) nutella, that has been refrigerated so it is solid and hard
  • 2 tbsp flour mixed with 1 ½ tbsp water
  • Oil for frying
Directions
  • Step 1 Working with one samosa sheet at a time, form a triangle at the edge by folding the sheet. Lightly dab the flour water paste to completely seal the edges and shape the triangular edge into a cone by folding again. Keep the rest of the samosa sheets covered with a damp cloth.
  • Step 2 The cone will form a deep pocket, fill with approximately 1 tbsp of the hard nutella.
  • Step 3 Fold the sheet to close the cone and to form a triangle. Seal the end with the flour water paste.
  • Step 4 Repeat this process with all of the samosa sheets.
  • Step 5 Heat enough oil to deep fry the samosas. Fry the samosas in batches until golden and crisp.
  • Step 6 Serve immediately.
